The River Valley Sporting Association was incorporated in 1984.
The non-profit Club operates a private target shooting range on the scenic Kingston Peninsula.

Members have access to a 200-yard rifle range and a 10-yard pistol range, as well as a stationary shotgun range for clays.
The rifle range has five sheltered positions with target holders at 25, 50, 100, and 200 yards. The pistol range has 3 lanes.
The range is open to members year-round from dawn to dusk, though access during winter and the spring thaw may be limited, depending on the condition of the logging road which provides access to the range.
The range is located on land leased from J.D. Irving, Limited (JDI) and access may be limited at the Club's or JDI's discretion.
This usually only happens when JDI are conducting forestry operations within or adjacent to the range boundaries, or when there are other safety concerns, such as during exceptionally dry times during the summer wildfire season.
